Low Weight, High-Performance Couplings
Metastream® H-FE couplings are designed for high speed turbo-alternator applications where weight and a high degree of reliability are critical. The couplings are manufactured in high alloy steel, with high strength stainless steel flexible elements, supported by aircraft standard fastenings.

The couplings are generally balanced to API 671 or similar, with pilot location to retain a very high level of repeatability.
Design Features

The flanged H-FE transmission unit can be readily adapted to match the integral shaft flanges used on many large gas and steam turbines.
On some applications, a H-FE turbine end drive is combined with a reduced moment arrangement at the compressor end.
The transmission unit is simple to install and remove for rapid separation of the two machines, providing easy access for alignment and equipment maintenance.
